Tinc Backstage Aims To Provide Affordable Labor To Off-Broadway Market
June 1, 2010Building off their years in the live-events and fashion industries, Tinc Design & Productions is launching a subsidiary, Tinc Backstage, which will provide affordable labor services to Off-Broadway theatre companies.
“Our backgrounds are in theatre,” remarks Tinc founder Ryan Kirk, “It’s only natural for us to extend our great services we’ve cultivated for the event world to the Off-Broadway world as well. We think it’s a win-win for both theatre companies and us.”
By providing labor, booking services, as well as dealing with all payroll and H.R. concerns, Tinc hopes to save their clients money and time. ”Theatre companies got into this business to make great art, not figure out how to pay people. We, on the other hand, have the expertise and infrastructure to easily fill that need. Over the years we’ve found ways to reduce our costs to make our exceptional labor accessible to theater companies.”
Despite the “official” launch, Tinc has been providing its brand of labor for all the years the company has been in business. ”We’ve never out-sourced our labor. We try to consolidate as much as possible in an effort to reduce costs and improve organization. Plus we have great people,” says Kirk.
In fact, consolidation is the name of the game. Tinc hopes that by consolidating the various and complex aspects of payroll and booking, it can provide a great service that’s accessible for theaters large and small.
